The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Writers Association is a volunteer-run organisation dedicated to preserving, promoting, and sharing the history, stories, and experiences of past Writers, Maritime Logistics-Personnel Operators, and Maritime Personnel sailors. Our membership also includes current serving Royal Australian Navy Maritime Personnel sailors and Maritime Human Resources officers.

About Us

The Royal Australian Navy Writers Association is a dedicated community for past and present personnel.

Established as an incorporated association in February 2005, we serve as a vital link for those who have contributed essential personnel, administrative and HR services to Navy people, and been the backbone of the Navy and the Divisional system.

Our mission is to foster a spirit of unity and preserve the unique heritage of the Navy Scribe which has evolved over the years to now include Navy Maritime HR officers.

What We Do

• Preserve History: We document the evolution of the Writer branch, from its early traditions to its modern role within the Maritime Personnel Community.
• Foster Connection: We provide a platform for members to reunite, share stories, and maintain lifelong friendships forged at sea and in shore establishments.  This functionality will be added in due course. Watch this space….
• Member Support: We act as a central hub for news, reunions, and updates relevant to our community.
